DESCRIPTION:The Jewish Film Festival Presents:\nTHERE ARE JEWS HERE\n\nA feature documentary that takes you to places where most never imagined Jews existed – like here and the Central PA region!  What can we learn from this compelling film? \nSunday February 26\, 2017 – 3 PM\nIn The Mary Sachs Auditorium of the JCC\nFollowed by a Reception\nMeet those whose lives are depicted in this compelling story! \nNOTE: During the Question & Answer Session after the film there will be a videographer present.  Your participation in this session is your express approval to be included in the video which will be used widely in multi-media. \nThis is the story of America’s disappearing Jewish communities.\nRoughly one million Jews are scattered across far-flung communities. For them\, Jewish identity is a daily urgent challenge to personally uphold their communities and live Jewish lives. \n\nIn the Mexican-American city of Laredo\, Texas we follow a young\, interfaith couple trying to reignite their community’s Jewish life amid a dominant Catholic culture.\nIn Montana we immerse in the beauty of the mountains where a spiritually committed woman lay leader tries to keep her community afloat even as she struggles with personal health.\nWe go to Latrobe\, Pennsylvania where the synagogue’s leaders hold on to keep their doors open just long enough to host the bat mitzvah of the congregation’s oldest member’s granddaughter.\n\n \n You Will Want to Be Here for This Special Event!\nCo-Sponsored and Presented by The Jewish Community Foundation Jewish Film Festival Fund\,  \nThe Jewish Community Foundation of Central Pennsylvania and The Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg. \nDOWNLOAD FLYER
