Yes, add your birthday, holiday, graduation and other gifts or even income you earn from babysitting, mowing the lawn or any other jobs!\u00a0 Each dollar you add will help to increase the amount in the Fund and you will have even more to give away to support causes you care about.<\/p>\n
For up to 20 years you can use the B\u2019nai Tzedek Fund in your name to make distributions to Jewish charities operating in our community.<\/p>\n
Then as long as you bring the Fund balance to a minimum for an adult endowment fund by twenty years from the anniversary date of the establishment of the B\u2019nai Tzedek Fund you can keep using it as a philanthropic fund \u2013 for life.<\/p>\n
The B\u2019nai Tzedek Fund in your name is one of hundreds of charitable funds managed by the Jewish Community Foundation that serves the Central Pennsylvania Jewish community.<\/p>\n
After 20 years when the B\u2019nai Tzedek Fund in your name is converted into a permanent endowment fund at the minimum for adult funds you can continue to support local and other Jewish causes operating in our community that are doing great work.\u00a0 You can even support other not profits \u2013 Jewish and non-Jewish \u2013 throughout the USA.<\/p>\n
You will be able to distribute up to 5% of the balance of the Fund each year to provide needed support to causes you care about.\u00a0 And you can keep adding to the Fund and watch it grow.<\/p>\n
IIf you choose not to bring the Fund to a minimum that qualifies to be an adult endowment fund you get to choose which local Jewish cause (like the synagogue of which you were a member when you joined B\u2019nai Tzedek) will receive the balance in the Fund.<\/p>\n
Money that is remaining in the B\u2019nai Tzedek Fund in your name will then be placed into the endowment fund of your choice at the Foundation.\u00a0 It must be a Fund of the Foundation in order to receive the assets..<\/p>\n
Or you can choose the General B\u2019nai Tzedek Fund that supports B\u2019nai Tzedek programming and you will be helping the next generations of teen philanthropists just like you!<\/p>\n
Your choice to either bring the Fund to a minimum for an adult endowment fund (or) transfer the assets to another local Jewish endowment fund (or) transfer the assets to the B\u2019nai Tzedek programming fund must be made in writing on a form provided by the Foundation.\u00a0 Your options must be discussed and your choice made with the assistance of the Foundation Executive Director or someone they appoint to assist you with the process.<\/p>\n
