Taking place annually, the March of the Living itself is a 5-kilometer walk from Auschwitz to Birkenau as a tribute to all victims of the Holocaust.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Application information:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Deadlines: <\/strong>applications may be submitted September 1 through October 1 of the academic year in which you will participate in the MOTL program.\u00a0To be considered, all items requested in the application must be completed and submitted by the deadline.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Only SABABA<\/strong> (formerly known as Harrisburg Hebrew High) students may apply for this scholarship. Students must be in their senior year of high school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>BBYO members must also apply to <strong>BBYO for a scholarship prior to submitting this application<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>If the applicant is a member of a synagogue, the applicant must reach out to their congregational rabbi to request financial support <strong>prior to submitting this application<\/strong>.\u00a0 Be sure to advise the rabbi of the deadline for submission and request that they provide in writing the amount of financial support that they will provide.\n<ul>\n<li>The letter from the rabbi must include the <strong>amount<\/strong>, the <strong>name of the applicant<\/strong> and that the <strong>money is for the applicant to participate in the MOTL program<\/strong> and the <strong>year the applicant plans to participate<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Gesher L\u2019 Machar scholarships will be awarded based upon the criteria herein, including financial need, leadership, volunteerism, commitment to Jewish values, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Applications will be reviewed by committee in October and award notices will be sent out in November. <strong>Committee decisions are final.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Questions<\/strong> can be referred to<strong> Lesley<\/strong> <strong>\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Billiejo@pajewishendowment.org\">lesley@pajewishendowment.org<\/a><\/strong> <strong>Donor Relations Specialist<\/strong>, or <strong>Paulette Keifer<\/strong>, <a class=\"email\" href=\"mailto:info@pajewishendowment.org\">info@pajewishendowment.org<\/a><strong>\u00a0Executive Director<\/strong>, The Jewish Community Foundation of Central PA (JCFofCPA)<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Combined scholarships and family contributions may not exceed the total cost of MOTL.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>AP exams can be rescheduled<\/strong> if they conflict with the trip. \u00a0Please check with your school\u2019s administrator to secure approval in writing.<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There is no guarantee of funding unless the applicant has consistently attended SABABA for 5 consecutive years.\n<ul>\n<li>Students who have attended SABABA for 5 years will receive a subsidy of a minimum of $1,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To apply:<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u2022\tYou must first create a Grant Module account by clicking on the link below<br \/>\n\u2022\tThen click &#8220;Create New Account&#8221; and complete the form.
